Me!
Emma Theriot (they/she/he) is a dynamic, empathetic, and collaborative performing artist currently based in upstate New York as they finish their BFA in Musical Theatre at Nazareth University in Rochester (senior year, LET'S GO!)! As a little kid, Emma enjoyed climbing trees, reading books, and teaching themself how to dance in the kitchen. Now, Emma prioritizes wonder, tenderness and play to be at the center of the work she does-- without fun, where would we be as people? Emma began theatre in the seventh grade, after an extreme hyperfixation with Hamilton and the 2008 Pro-Shoot of RENT, and has performed in many shows since then. Favorites include Rock Of Ages (Regina, Timber Lake Playhouse) Crazy For You (Polly Baker, Nazareth University), The Wizard of Oz (Ens./ Toto Puppeteer /US Wizard, GEVA Theatre), Assassins (John Wilkes Booth, Nazareth) The Spitfire Grill (Effy, Nazareth) and Anything Goes (Virtue/ US Erma, Timber Lake Playhouse)
This summer, Emma is ecstatic to return to Timber Lake for their 74th season for Summer '25. Emma will be in the world premier of Glü-- A New musical written by Alexander Sage-Oyen and Jake Lockwood-- originating the role of Meredith! Emma could not be more excited and grateful for this opportunity! After this summer, Emma will be playing Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet this coming fall at Nazareth!
In 2022, Emma began her college career at Nazareth University's BFA Musical Theatre department. Since being at Nazareth, Emma has grown tremendously as both a person and performer. With an emphasis on the experiences of her own youth, Emma has managed to make their past something that does not define them-- but has made them into the person they are now. Emma's number one mission is to become the person that they needed when they were younger.
Outside of performing, Emma enjoys cutting their friends hair, makeup and wig designing, cooking for large groups of people, reframing Golden-Age classics, creating extremely detailed Spotify playlists (@theaddamsadministration-- TY middle school me!) and spending time with the family that they have created! Emma is grateful to be alive and well, and spends every day like it could the best ever!
